Regular Season Round 7: Sundsvall - Nassjo 87-83

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Nassjo (4-3) against fifth ranked Sundsvall Dragons (4-2) on Friday night. Visiting Nassjo was defeated by Sundsvall Dragons in a tough game in Sundsvall 83-87. The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 23-16 Nassjo's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 87-83 at the end of the game. Nassjo was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Charles Barton (193-92, college: Oregon St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Icelandic power forward Hlynur Baeringsson (200-82) helped adding 16 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side Lithuanian forward Mantas Griskenas (200-85, college: Wichita St., agency: Dynamics Global Management) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian guard Aleksa Solevic (183-93) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Nassjo players scored in double figures. Nassjo's coach Raul Jimenez tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sundsvall Dragons moved-up to fourth place. Nassjo at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Sundsvall Dragons will play against Uppsala Basket (#6) on the road in the next round. Nassjo will play against Umea and hopes to get back on the winning track.
