Regular Season Round 8: SAP Vaucluse - Bordeaux 90-67

Very predictable result when sixth ranked SAP Vaucluse (5-3) rolled over 14th ranked JSA Bordeaux (2-6) in Sorgues 90-67 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by SAP Vaucluse. JSA Bordeaux was better in second period 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded JSA Bordeaux 36-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. SAP Vaucluse looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Mali power forward Cheick Soumaoro (204-90) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds. Lithuanian forward Zygimantas Jonusas (200-82) contributed with 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five SAP Vaucluse players scored in double figures. American Kevin Rogers (206-86, college: Baylor) replied with 23 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Senegalese forward Moustapha Diop (204-89) added 14 points in the effort for JSA Bordeaux. SAP Vaucluse have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. JSA Bordeaux lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with six games lost. SAP Vaucluse will face bottom-ranked CFBB (#18) in Paris in the next round which should be another easy win for them. JSA Bordeaux will play at home against La Rochelle (#11) and hope to win that game.
