A very interesting game took place in Aix-les-Bains. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Angers BC (4-4) to fifth ranked Aix-Maurienne (6-2) 75-74 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Angers BC. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was naturalized Algerian Karim Atamna (196-80) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Spanish Pep Ortega (201-84) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. point guard Hugo Suhard (184-92) produced 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Auston Calhoun (201-90, college: Bowling Green, agency: HMS) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Angers BC at the other side keeps the ninth position with four games lost. Aix-Maurienne's next round opponent will be Vitre (#16) on the road which should be an easy win for them. Angers BC will play against the league's second-placed ADA Blois (#2) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
