Regular Season Round 8: GET Vosges - Caen 92-78

Date: November 6, 2015
Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Caen (2-6) lost to tenth ranked GET Vosges (5-3) in Golbey 78-92 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by GET Vosges. Caen was better in fourth quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. GET Vosges looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Caen was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Naturalized Belgian point guard Charly Pontens (190-95) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 7 assists. Forward Steven Ricard (200-90) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Naturalized Congolese swingman Camille Eleka (196-88) replied with 21 points and American center Ian Caskill (208-81, college: JMU) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Caen. Four Caen players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. GET Vosges moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Caen lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost. GET Vosges will face Berck (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Caen will play against Quimper UJAP and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
