Bottom-ranked Gipuzkoa (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 81-68 loss to ninth ranked Blusens Monbus (3-2) in Santoago de Comp on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Blusens Monbus led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American-Italian forward Angelo Caloiaro (205-89, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Belgian guard Tyler Haws (196-91, college: BYU) chipped in 19 points. American forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland) produced 18 points and guard Txemi Urtasun (193-84) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Blusens Monbus moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Unicaja and Bilbao Basket. Gipuzkoa lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Blusens Monbus will face league's leader Regal FC Barcelona on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gipuzkoa will play against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#10) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
