Regular Season Round 6: UL Eagles - UCD Marian 46-67

The biggest surprise of round 6 in Premier League was guest UCD Marian's (4-2) easy road victory over UL Eagles (#5) 67-46 on Saturday evening. UCD Marian held UL Eagles to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.6 percent accuracy of the winners. UCD Marian forced 22 UL Eagles turnovers and outrebounded them 49-30 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international swingman Dan James (189-90) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Mark Nagle (191-90) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Robert Lynch (193-78) who recorded 6 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Stephen King (196-86) added 10 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. UCD Marian moved-up to third place, which they share with Killester. UL Eagles at the other side keep the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Swords Thunder. UCD Marian is looking forward to face bottom-ranked DCU Saints (#10) in Dublin in the next round and are hoping to win another game. UL Eagles will play on the road against the league's leader Templeogue (#1) in Dublin and are hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
