Regular Season Round 5: Alpo VR - Broni 43-68

The game between Top Four teams took place in Verona. 3rd placed host Alpo VR (3-2) was smashed by leader Broni (5-0) 68-43. The game without a history. Broni led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Alpo VR to just 6 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Alpo VR 48-30 including 36 on the defensive glass. Guard Virginia Galbiati (173-92, agency: SPORTlab Agency) nailed 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Estonian power forward Maaja Bratka (190-92, agency: LBM Management) accounted for 14 points and 12 rebounds. Broni's coach Roberto Sacchi felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Maria Zanella (174-92) came up with 11 points and Bosnian Marina Dzinic (190-92) added 10 points respectively for Alpo VR in the defeat. Broni maintains first place in A2 with 5-0 record. Alpo VR at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Broni will play against Carugate (#10) in Corugate in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alpo VR will play at home against Marghera (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
