Regular Season Round 6: MKS DG 2 - Alba Chorzow 79-95

Rather expected game when bottom-ranked MKS DG 2 (0-6) lost to tenth ranked Alba Chorzow (2-4) in Dabrowa Gornicza 79-95 on Saturday. Alba Chorzow outrebounded MKS DG 2 47-21 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. MKS DG 2 was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for power forward Marcin Weselak (204-79) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Lukasz Wojcik (189-84) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Alba Chorzow players scored in double figures. Mateusz Szczypinski (193-98) replied with 26 points and Aleksander Zalucki (188-98) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for MKS DG 2. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Alba Chorzow moved-up to eighth place in Group C, which they share with Pogon RS and Wisla Krakow. Loser MKS DG 2 still closes the standings with six games lost. Alba Chorzow will face higher ranked Zaglebie (#4) in Sosnowiec in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. MKS DG 2 will play at home against the league's leader Polonia Bytom (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
