Everything could happen in Madrid at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked ASEFA Estudiantes and 10th ranked Olimpico 64 had identical 3-2 record. But Olimpico 64 was not able to use a home court advantage and was smashed by the opponent from Madrid 71-51 on Saturday night. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-51. ASEFA Estudiantes dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpico 64's 26. They outrebounded Olimpico 64 42-20 including a 31-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian Ines Orselli (-93) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Rocio Torcal (172-94) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four ASEFA Estudiantes players scored in double figures. ASEFA Estudiantes' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was forward Irene San Roman (177-92) with 17 points and point guard Esther Molinero (165-93) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. ASEFA Estudiantes (4-2) moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Olimpico 64 dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. ASEFA Estudiantes will face Picken Claret (#5) in Valencia in the next round. Olimpico 64 will play on the road against Segle XXI in Barcelona and hope to win that game.
