Regular Season Round 6: Tur Bielsk Pdl. - Ostrow Mazow. 88-87

There was an upset when higher ranked Ostrow Mazow. (3-3) was edged by twelfth ranked Tur Bielsk Pdl. (2-4) in Bielsk Podlaski 88-87 on Saturday. Tur Bielsk Pdl. forced 20 Ostrow Mazow. turnovers. Strangely Ostrow Mazow. outrebounded Tur Bielsk Pdl. 45-33 including a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Ostrow Mazow. was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Arkadiusz Zabielski (197-84) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Forward Lukasz Kuczynski (194-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Tur Bielsk Pdl.'s coach Jaroslaw Walerian used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Michal Wojtynski (193-89) replied with 29 points and 4 steals and guard Bartosz Grudzinski (186-91) added 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Ostrow Mazow.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tur Bielsk Pdl. moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Ostrow Mazow. keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Tur Bielsk Pdl. will face Stal SW (#8) in Stalowa Wola in the next round. Ostrow Mazow. will play at home against AZS UMCS (#7) and hope to win that game.
