Important game to mention about took place in Aguascalientes. Sixth ranked Jefes (3-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked Panteras (1-3) 76-74 on Saturday evening. Jefes forced 19 Panteras turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Power forward Juan Manuel Esteva (196-83) scored 19 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American-Puerto Rican Javier Mojica (190-84, college: Cent.Conn.St., agency: Paris Global Sports) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Jorge Alfredo Casillas (196-90) with 10 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Oscar Alejandro Perez Zarco (205-85) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Jefes moved-up to fifth place. Panteras at the other side dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. They share it with Correcaminos. Jefes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Panteras will play on the road against Pioneros (#4) in Cancun to get more than just one victory in their record.
