Regular Season Round 6: Kvarner 2010 - KK Zagreb 63-99

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Kvarner (4-1) in Rijeka on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by KK Zagreb (5-1) 99-63. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Kvarner. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. KK Zagreb led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Kvarner's 24. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Pavle Marcinkovic (199-89, agency: Alti Sport) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Luka Bozic (199-96) chipped in 22 points. Four KK Zagreb players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Paolo Marinelli (191-95) who recorded 14 points and the former international power forward Sime Spralja (205-83, agency: Court Side) added 6 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KK Zagreb keeps a position of league leader. Kvarner at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Alkar Sinj and GKK Sibenik. KK Zagreb are looking forward to face league's second-placed GKK Sibenik at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kvarner will play against KK Skrljevo and is hoping to win this game.
