Regular Season Round 8: Cadi La Seu - Avenida 55-67

LFB top team - Perfumerias Avenida (7-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat eighth ranked Cadi La Seu (3-5) in Seu D'urgell 67-55. The game was mostly controlled by Perfumerias Avenida. Cadi La Seu managed to win third quarter 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Cadi La Seu 35-18 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by international center Astou Ndour (198-94, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks and Greek-American guard Jacki Gemelos (182-88, college: USC) supported her with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Even 17 points by the former international forward Tamara Abalde (190-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) did not help to save the game for Cadi La Seu. Center Belen Jimenez (188-95) added 14 points for the hosts. Perfumerias Avenida have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record, which they share with Girona. Loser Cadi La Seu dropped to the ninth place with five games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Perfumerias Avenida will meet at home Campus Promete (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Cadi La Seu will play against CREF Hola in Madrid and hope to secure a win.
