Regular Season Round 7: Chalon - Gravelines 55-78

The most shocking disappointment of round 7 was a home defeat of 4th placed Chalon/Saor (4-3) by seventh ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (5-2) who outscored them by 23 points 78-55. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Gravelines-Dunkerque dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Chalon/Saor's 32. Gravelines-Dunkerque looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Chalon/Saor's players. It was a great evening for international swingman Pape Sy (201-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Andrew Albicy (178-90) helped adding 7 points and 10 assists. At the losing side American swingman Jeremy Hazell (191-86, college: Seton Hall) responded with 18 points and the other American import forward Justin Brownlee (197-88, college: St.John's) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Chalon/Saor's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Gravelines-Dunkerque moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Chalon/Saor at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Gravelines-Dunkerque is looking forward to face Monaco (#6) at home in the next round. Chalon/Saor will play against Paris-Levallois and is hoping to win this game.
