Regular Season Round 4: MIA Academy - Dinamo Tbilisi 76-77

Important game to mention about took place in Tbilisi. Third ranked Dinamo Tbilisi (3-1) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging bottom-ranked MIA (0-3) 77-76 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 16-13. But MIA won second period 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded MIA 47-30 including 19 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Giorgi Sharabidze (210-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and Canadian swingman Daniel Williams (192-87, college: N.Mex.Military) who added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American point guard DeAndre Mays (188-87, college: Youngstown St.) responded with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Koka Tomaradze (197-90) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five Dinamo Tbilisi and four MIA players scored in double figures. MIA's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Dinamo Tbilisi keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Defending champion MIA still closes the standings with three games lost. Dinamo Tbilisi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Sokhumi.
