Regular Season Round 14: Okinawa GK - Fukuoka Rizing 85-80

BJ League top team - Okinawa GK (9-2) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat eighth ranked Fukuoka Rizing (5-7) 85-80. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-20. But Fukuoka Rizing won second period 17-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Evan Ravenel (203-89, college: Ohio St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. Forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida) replied with 19 points and 8 rebounds and forward Bingo Merriex (206-80, college: TCU) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Fukuoka Rizing. Okinawa GK have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-2 record, which they share with Niigata Albirex. Fukuoka Rizing lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with seven games lost. Okinawa GK will have a break next round. Fukuoka Rizing will play on the road against Shimane Magic (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
