Bottom-ranked CB Canarias (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 85-75 overtime loss to tenth ranked Unicaja Malaga (3-2) in Malaga. The game was mostly controlled by Unicaja Malaga. CB Canarias was better in second period 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where CB Canarias used huge pressure winning it 22-15 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 6-16. American-Georgian Will Thomas (203-86, agency: Two Points) nailed 8 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and American-FYR Macedonian power forward Richard Hendrix (204-86, college: Alabama, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) accounted for 12 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Tim Abromaitis (203-89, college: Notre Dame) came up with 16 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Xavier Rey (210-87) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for CB Canarias in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Unicaja Malaga moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Bilbao Basket and Rio Natura Mnb. CB Canarias lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Unicaja Malaga's next round opponent will be Sevilla (#16) on the road and are hoping to win another game. CB Canarias will play against G.Canaria 2014 and hopes to get finally their first victory.
