There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Angers (2-4) edged at home 9th ranked Nantes Reze (2-4) 63-60 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Lizanne Murphy (185-84, college: Hofstra) who scored 8 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Lithuanian forward Sofija Aleksandravicius (196-91, college: Davidson, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian forward Katherine Plouffe (190-92, college: Marquette) who recorded 19 points and 9 rebounds and Latvian power forward Aija Putnina (191-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Angers moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Nantes Reze. Nantes Reze lost fourth consecutive game. Angers will face higher ranked Lattes Montpellier (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
