Regular Season Round 8: BC Nokia - Pyrinto 87-83

BC Nokia's home win over higher ranked Tampereen Pyrinto 87-83 was very exciting. Tampereen Pyrinto was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 24-19 charge of BC Nokia, which allowed them to win the game. They made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. Tampereen Pyrinto was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Isaiah Wilkerson (190-90, college: NJIT) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward David Kravish (208-92, college: California) who added 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four BC Nokia players scored in double figures. American forward Damon Williams (201-73, college: Colorado St.-Pueblo, agency: Two Points) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international Petri Heinonen (207-88) scored 18 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. BC Nokia (4-4) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Helsinki Seagulls and Kauhajoki. Tampereen Pyrinto lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. BC Nokia will face Helsinki Seagulls (#6) on the road in the next round. Tampereen Pyrinto will play against KTP-Basket and hope to win that game.
