Regular Season Round 5: Ironi Nahariya - Maccabi K/G 70-81

We should mention about the upset which took place in Nahariya, where 4th placed Ironi Nahariya (3-2) lost at home to twelfth ranked Maccabi K/G (2-3) 70-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ironi Nahariya. It was a great shooting night for Maccabi K/G especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. The former international point guard Meir Tapiro (192-75, agency: Avi Zilberman) nailed 13 points and 5 assists for the winning side and American power forward Jason Love (206-87, college: Xavier) accounted for 10 points and 10 rebounds. American swingman Cameron Clark (201-91, college: Oklahoma) came up with 18 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Ironi Nahariya in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Maccabi K/G moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Ironi Nahariya at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Maccabi K/G's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Hapoel Eilat (#12) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Ironi Nahariya will play against Bnei Hasharon (#11) in Hod Hasharon and hope to win that game.
