Regular Season Round 14: Fukushima - Aomori Watts 100-85

Very expected game when 8th ranked Aomori Watts (4-6) lost on the road to fourth ranked Fukushima (7-3) 100-85 on Sunday. Fukushima dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Aomori Watts' 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Stephan Van Treese (206-90, college: Louisville, agency: Two Points) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds. Swingman Le'Bryan Nash (201-92, college: Oklahoma St.) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Five Fukushima players scored in double figures. Guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) replied with 28 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and forward Jesse Perry (200-89, college: Arizona) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Aomori Watts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fukushima moved-up to third place, which they share with Shiga L-Stars. Loser Aomori Watts dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Fukushima will face league's leader Niigata Albirex on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aomori Watts will play against Saitama Broncos (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
