Regular Season Round 5: Slask Wroclaw - Torun 69-82

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Twarde Pierniki (5-1) beat 11th ranked Slask (2-4) in Wroclaw 82-69 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Slask was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Danny Gibson (177-84, college: S.Indiana) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 6 assists. The former international Lukasz Wisniewski (186-84, college: Barton Co. CC, agency: Promotex) contributed with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Twarde Pierniki players scored in double figures. American power forward Jarvis Williams (203-93, college: Murray St.) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and Michal Jankowski (191-87) added 11 points in the effort for Slask. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Twarde Pierniki moved-up to second place, which they share with Polfarmex KT. Loser Slask dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. Twarde Pierniki will face Wilki Morskie (#14) in Szczecin in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Slask will play at home against MKS Start and hope to win that game.
