Very important is a road loss of second ranked Maccabi Haifa (3-2) against ninth ranked Bnei Hasharon (2-3) on Sunday night. Visiting Maccabi Haifa was defeated by Bnei Hasharon in Hod Hasharon 74-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Maccabi Haifa. Maccabi Haifa was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 28-17 charge of Bnei Hasharon, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Maccabi Haifa to just 6 points in third quarter. Bnei Hasharon brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Maccabi Haifa was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Stephen Dennis (198-87, college: Kutztown, agency: HMS) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
