Seria A1 top team - Familia Schio (6-0) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat tenth ranked Torino (2-4) 71-64. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Torino won third quarter 23-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Torino 43-26 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American Jolene Anderson (175-86, college: Wisconsin) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and French center Isabelle Yacoubou (190-86, agency: Comsport) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Familia Schio players scored in double figures. Familia Schio's coach Miguel Mendez used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Yvonne Anderson (170-90, college: Texas, agency: Two Points) with 25 points and 7 rebounds and her fellow American import center Jenna Smith (191-88, college: Illinois, agency: Two Points) scored 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Familia Schio have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 6-0 record, which they share with Lucca. Torino lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Familia Schio is looking forward to face San Giovanni (#13) in Sesto San Giovanni in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Torino will play on the road against Orvieto (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
