SM-sarja top team - Catz Lappeenranta (9-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Espoo Team (3-4) 81-48. The game without a history. Catz Lappeenranta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Espoo Team to just 4 points in third quarter and to 12 points in second half. Catz Lappeenranta made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was a quality performance for Russian forward Elena Reshetko (184-86) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. American Chandrea Jones (177-87, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Deanna Weaver (180, college: Boise St.) came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds and guard Laura Lahtinen (175-86) added 7 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Espoo Team in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Catz Lappeenranta. Defending champion maintains first place with 9-1 record. Newly promoted Espoo Team dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Catz Lappeenranta will meet at home Forssan Alku (#4) in the next round. Espoo Team will play against Peli-Karhut in Kotka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
