Bottom-ranked Hitachi Cougars (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 79-46 loss to sixth ranked Mitsubishi K. (5-3) in Nagoya. The game without a history. Mitsubishi K. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 25-of-26 charity shots (96.2 percent) during the game, while Hitachi Cougars only scored five points from the stripe. They outrebounded Hitachi Cougars 52-34 including 21 on the offensive glass. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
