Regular Season Round 5: Hapoel Eilat - Hapoel T-A 61-84
Date: November 9, 2015
Bottom-ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of three consecutive loses on Monday night. This time they outleveled eleventh-ranked Hapoel Eilat 84-61. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 23-point difference suggests that Hapoel Tel-Aviv is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game without a history. Hapoel Tel-Aviv led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 26-of-33 free shots (78.8 percent) during the game. Hapoel Tel-Aviv outrebounded Hapoel Eilat 50-26 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Christopher Evans (203-91, college: Kent St.) stepped up and scored 24 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Talor Battle (182-88, college: Penn St., agency: Two Points) chipped in 21 points, 8 assists and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach Oded Katash felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American Khalif Wyatt (193-91, college: Temple) responded with 13 points and international Elishay Kadir (202-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) scored 12 points and 4 steals. Hapoel Tel-Aviv (2-3) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Hapoel Eilat lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with four games lost.
