A very interesting game took place in Avellino. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 12th ranked Scandone AV (2-4) to seventh ranked Banco di Srd (4-2) 90-88 on Monday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Scandone AV. Scandone AV was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 21-13 charge of Banco di Srd, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 Scandone AV turnovers. It was a good game for DR Congolese Christian Eyenga (201-89) who led his team to a victory with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Georgian point guard Marquez Haynes (191-86, college: Texas Arlington) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Banco di Srd players scored in double figures. Croatian power forward Ivan Buva (208-91) replied with 29 points and American forward James Nunnally (201-90, college: UCSB) added 21 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Scandone AV. Scandone AV's coach Stefano Sacripanti let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Scandone AV at the other side keeps the twelfth position with four games lost. Banco di Srd's next round opponent will be O.Lavoro BO (#15) in Bologna which should be an easy win for them. Scandone AV will play on the road against AV Cantu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
