Bnot Hertzeliya edged Hap.Petah Tikva at home 61-58. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-11. But Hap.Petah Tikva won second period 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Bnot Hertzeliya won last quarter 13-12. They also forced 20 Hap.Petah Tikva turnovers and had a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Bnot Hertzeliya brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for American center Michelle Snow (196-80, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Jasmine Thomas (175-89, college: Duke) contributed with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Bnot Hertzeliya's coach Gilad Katz allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American center Stephanie Madden (186-88, college: Langston) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds and Brittany Brink (-93) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Hap.Petah Tikva. Hap.Petah Tikva will play next round against strong Maccabi Ramat Hen trying to get back on the winning streak. Bnot Hertzeliya will try to continue on its current victory against ASA Jerusalem on the road.
