Regular Season Round 3: Mogi - Caxias do Sul 83-52

The game with biggest result difference took place in Mogi das Cruzes. Local Mogi (2-1) outscored Caxias do Sul (0-3) 83-52. The game without a history. Mogi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Caxias do Sul's 22. They outrebounded Caxias do Sul 48-26 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a quality performance for American forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. The former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) accounted for 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Mogi players scored in double figures. point guard Gobor Vinicius (185-90) came up with 13 points and Alex Oliveira (196-83) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Caxias do Sul in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mogi's next round opponent will be Pinheiros (#3) in Sao Paolo, which may be the game of the day. Caxias do Sul will play on the road against Sao Jose/Vinac (#5) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
