Regular Season Round 3: Minas - Franca 75-85

We should mention about the upset which took place in Belo Horizonte, where Minas (1-2) lost at home to Vivo/Franca (2-1) 75-85 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Vivo/Franca. Minas managed to win third quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vivo/Franca looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Welington Dos Santos (185-81) who led his team to a victory scoring 8 points and 14 assists. Forward Antonio Ferreira (178-94) helped adding 22 points. Vivo/Franca's coach Aluisio Xavier Ferreira used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Leonardo Demetrio (203-94) with 16 points and 7 rebounds and international guard Danilo Fuzaro (193-94) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Vivo/Franca will meet Brasilia on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Minas will play against Paschoalotto/Bauru (#13) and hope to win that game.
