Everything could happen in Veracruz at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Halcones Rojos and 8th ranked Ciudad had identical 2-4 record. This time Halcones Rojos used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Ciudad Juarez 89-78 on Tuesday night. They outrebounded Ciudad 40-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. American-Puerto Rican Michael Rosario (190-90, college: Florida) fired 25 points for the winners. American forward Omar Thomas (196-82, college: UTEP) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Halcones Rojos' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) produced 28 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Tiras Wade (200-81, college: La-Lafayette) added 22 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Halcones Rojos have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted Ciudad keeps the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Santos. Halcones Rojos will again meet at home Ciudad (#9) in the next round. Ciudad will have a break next round.
