Regular Season Round 10: Jiangsu - Bayi 66-57

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Bayi Kylin (5-5) against fourth ranked Jiangsu Phoenix (6-4) on Tuesday night. Visiting Bayi Kylin was defeated by Jiangsu Phoenix in a tough game in Yixing 57-66. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It looked good early as Bayi Kylin took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Jiangsu Phoenix had a 17-4 second period charge getting the lead and Bayi Kylin was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 57-66. Jiangsu Phoenix dominated on the defensive end, holding Bayi Kylin to just 4 points in second quarter. Jiangsu Phoenix forced 21 Bayi Kylin turnovers. American forward Jessica Breland (190-88, college: N.Carolina) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international point guard Xiaojia Chen (177-88) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side forward MengXin Sun (190-93) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and international center Liting Zhang (199-94) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Jiangsu Phoenix have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Bayi Kylin at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost.
