Everything could happen in Dongguan at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Guandong Tigers and 8th ranked Jilin Tigers had identical 2-1 record. This time Guandong Tigers used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Changchun 107-86 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Guandong Tigers. Jilin Tigers was better in second period 28-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guandong Tigers forced 23 Jilin Tigers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Quite impressive performance for the former international Jianlian Yi (212-87) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 7 rebounds. American point guard Will Bynum (183-83, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Priority Sports) contributed with 14 points, 9 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Guandong Tigers' coach Feng Du felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American-Puerto Rican center Peter Ramos (222-85) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 19 rebounds and American swingman Marcus Williams (200-86, college: Arizona, agency: Interperformances) added 30 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Jilin Tigers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Guandong Tigers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Shandong FB and Guangsha L. Loser Jilin Tigers keep the eighth position with two games lost. Guandong Tigers will face Qingdao Eagles (#16) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Jilin Tigers will play against DongGuan Leopards (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
