Fourteenth-ranked Leyma Basquet (1-6) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Castello (5-2) in Castellon. Castello managed to secure only one-point victory 79-78. However their fans expected much easier game. Leyma Basquet was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 22-19 charge of Castello, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Castello especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Brandon Garrett (206-90, college: Murray St., agency: Duran International) who led the winners and scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Jose Maria Garcia (193-87) accounted for 12 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Castello players scored in double figures. Castello's coach Toni Ten allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Georgian Beka Burjanadze (202-94) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and center Sergio Olmos (213-86, college: Temple) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Leyma Basquet in the defeat. Castello moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Leyma Basquet lost their third game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Forca Lleida and Prat. Castello will play against Leche Rio Breogan (#7) in Lugo in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Leyma Basquet will play at home against Lobe Huesca (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
