Regular Season Round 7: Ravenna - Recanati 65-80

Date: November 11, 2015
There was an upset when higher ranked Ravenna (3-4) was defeated at home by sixteenth ranked Recanati (2-5) 80-65 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Recanati. Ravenna was better in fourth quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Ravenna 46-30 including a 36-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Recanati looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Recanati made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American center Kenny Lawson (207-88, college: Creighton) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Naturalized American guard Adam Sollazzo (198-90, college: E.Tenn.St.) helped adding 8 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side naturalized Argentinian point guard Marcos Casini (188-80) responded with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Michael Deloach (185-86, college: Norfolk St.) scored 13 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Recanati moved-up to fifteenth place in A2. Loser Ravenna dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. Recanati will face higher ranked Matera (#14) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
