Regular Season Round 3: Macae - Rio Claro 84-80
Date: November 11, 2015
There was no surprise when Rio Claro (1-2) was defeated on the road by Macae (1-2) 84-80. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It looked good early as Rio Claro took a 16-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Macae took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 4 points. They made 23-of-25 charity shots (92.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Anderson Mosso (205-82, college: Chipola JC) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Caleb Brown (183-89, college: Austin Peay St.) accounted for 14 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Center Daniel Castellar (203-83) came up with 23 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Guilherme Teichmann (206-83, college: Tulsa) added 18 points respectively for Rio Claro in the defeat. Five Macae and four Rio Claro players scored in double figures. Rio Claro's coach Marcelo Tamiao rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Macae's next round opponent will be Winner/Limeira (#10) at home. Rio Claro will play against Flamengo (#6) in Rio de Janeiro and hope to win that game.
