Regular Season Round 8: Correcaminos - Gigantes 88-83

There was no surprise in Ciudad Victoria where 11th ranked Gigantes (1-7) were defeated by seventh ranked Correcaminos (3-3) 88-83 on Thursday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Brandon Davis (198-88, college: Lamar, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import point guard Marquis Ayala (178) who added 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. The former international guard Carlos Toussaint (190-91) responded with 28 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Darrien Mack (200-91, college: Eckerd) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Four Gigantes players scored in double figures. Gigantes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Correcaminos moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Jefes. Gigantes lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. Correcaminos will meet Ciudad (#9) in the next round. Gigantes will play against Fuerza Regia and hope to win that game.
