Regular Season Round 8: Halc.Rojos - Indios 80-77

A very close game took place in Veracruz between Halcones Rojos and Ciudad. Sixth ranked Halcones Rojos (4-4) got a very close home victory over 9th ranked Ciudad (2-6). Halcones Rojos managed to escape with a 3-point win 80-77 on Thursday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Puerto Rican Michael Rosario (190-90, college: Florida) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized American forward Aaron Perez (196-86, college: Oklah.Baptist) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Halcones Rojos players scored in double figures. Halcones Rojos' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Tiras Wade (200-81, college: La-Lafayette) responded with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Halcones Rojos have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Ciudad lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Santos. Halcones Rojos will meet league's leader Soles in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ciudad will play against Correcaminos (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
