Regular Season Round 7: Novipiu Casale - Rieti 88-67

Date: November 12, 2015
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Novipiu Casale and 6th ranked Rieti had identical 4-2 record. This time Novipiu Casale used a home court advantage and outscored the opponent from Rieti 88-67 on Thursday night. Novipiu Casale shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for naturalized Senegalese forward Abdel Fall (202-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 8 points and 10 rebounds. American guard TJ Bray (197-92, college: Princeton) helped adding 13 points. At the losing side naturalized American power forward Cristopher Mortellaro (207-82, college: Drury) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and American Dalton Pepper (196-90, college: Temple) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Rieti players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Novipiu Casale (5-2) moved-up to third place in A2. Newly promoted Rieti dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Novipiu Casale will face Latina Basket (#7) on the road in the next round. Rieti will play against Agrigento and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
