Regular Season Round 6: Bnei Hertzeliyya - Ironi Nahariya 88-72

Date: November 12, 2015
The game between tenth ranked Bnei Hasharon (3-3) and higher ranked Ironi Nahariya (3-3) in Hod Hasharon on Thursday ended with biggest points difference. Bnei Hasharon beat guests from Nahariya 88-72. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Bnei Hasharon's pressure prevailed and they won that period 25-16 extending their advantage to 16 points. They shot 61.8 percent from the field. Bnei Hasharon outrebounded Ironi Nahariya 34-20 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Bnei Hasharon made 8 blocks. American players dominated also this game. Guard Stephen Dennis (198-87, college: Kutztown, agency: HMS) notched 19 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) supported him with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Bnei Hasharon's coach Mickey Gorke used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 19 points and 5 rebounds by Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) did not help to save the game for Ironi Nahariya. Swingman Cameron Clark (201-91, college: Oklahoma) added 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bnei Hasharon have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ironi Nahariya and Maccabi Ashdod. Bnei Hasharon will meet Hapoel Eilat (#9) on the road in the next round. Ironi Nahariya will play against the league's second-placed Hapoel Jerusalem (#2) and hope to secure a win.
