No shocking result in a game in Cancun where third ranked Pioneros (6-2) smashed 10th ranked Panteras (1-5) 90-57 on Thursday. Pioneros had a 32-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Panteras' players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Romel Beck (201-82, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 assists and the former international Hector Hernandez (205-85, college: Fresno St., agency: Pro Sports) who added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The former international swingman Jorge Alfredo Casillas (196-90) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and international point guard Adrian Jesus Villalobos (183) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pioneros moved-up to second place, which they share with Abejas. Panteras lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with five games lost. Pioneros will meet Jefes (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Panteras will play against Santos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
