Regular Season Round 4: L.Sorocaba - B.Cearense 70-78

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked SKY/Basquete (2-2) beat 15th ranked Liga Sorocaba (1-2) in Sorocabana 78-70 on Friday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-19. But Liga Sorocaba won second period 13-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SKY/Basquete forced 21 Liga Sorocaba turnovers. Liga Sorocaba was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for the former international point guard David Rossetto (180-93) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international center Leonardo Klassmann (208-89) contributed with 6 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four SKY/Basquete players scored in double figures. Guard Arlindo Neto (187-86) replied with 23 points (made all of his seven free throws) and power forward Luiz Paulo Dos Santos (206-89, college: Slippery Rock) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Liga Sorocaba. Liga Sorocaba's coach Rinaldo Rodrigues rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. SKY/Basquete moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Pinheiros and S.Jose/Unimed. Loser Liga Sorocaba dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. SKY/Basquete will face higher ranked Brasilia (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Liga Sorocaba will play against Flamengo (#4) and hope to win that game.
