Regular Season Round 8: Paris-Levallois - Chalon 99-86

We should mention about the upset which took place in Levallois, where higher ranked Chalon/Saor (4-4) lost to sixteenth ranked Paris-Levallois (3-5) in a road game 86-99. It looked good early as Chalon/Saor took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Paris-Levallois had a 26-17 second period charge getting the lead and Chalon/Saor was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 86-99. Paris-Levallois made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Paris-Levallois outrebounded Chalon/Saor 31-19 including a 21-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Power forward Eric Dawson (206-84, college: Midwestern St., agency: Haylett Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Point guard Chris Jones (178-91, college: Louisville) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Dawson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Center Devin Booker (203-91, college: Clemson) replied with 20 points and 7 rebounds and forward Justin Brownlee (197-88, college: St.John's) added 17 points in the effort for Chalon/Saor. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Chalon/Saor's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Paris-Levallois moved-up to fourteenth place. Chalon/Saor lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. They share it with Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Paris-Levallois will play against higher ranked Limoges CSP Elite (#7) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Chalon/Saor will play against Strasbourg IG and will have a slim chance for a victory.
