Regular Season Round 8: Gravelines - Monaco 72-57

The game with biggest result difference took place in Gravelines. Local Gravelines-Dunkerque (6-2) beat 6th ranked Monaco (5-3) 72-57 on Friday night. The game without a history. Gravelines-Dunkerque led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Monaco to just 7 points in second quarter. Gravelines-Dunkerque forced 21 Monaco turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Gravelines-Dunkerque especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Worth to mention a quality performance of American Steven Gray (196-89, college: Gonzaga) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and the former international point guard Andrew Albicy (178-90) who added 8 points and 7 assists during the contest. Naturalized Ghanian Billy Ouattara (191-92) responded with 20 points and American Jamal Shuler (191-86) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Monaco's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic tested eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gravelines-Dunkerque have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Le Mans. Newly promoted Monaco dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Antibes. Gravelines-Dunkerque will meet Cholet Basket (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Monaco will play against Sluc Nancy (#17) and hope to secure a win.
