Regular Season Round 5: DongGuan L. - Jilin NE T. 102-97

The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked DongGuan Leopards' (3-1) home victory over 11th ranked Jilin Tigers (2-3) 102-97 on Friday. Jilin Tigers were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Strangely Jilin Tigers outrebounded DongGuan Leopards 52-38 including 23 on the offensive glass. Jilin Tigers were plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) stepped up and scored 39 points (!!!) and 8 assists for the winners and his fellow American import Dominic McGuire (206-85, college: Fresno St., agency: Priority Sports) chipped in 17 points and 11 rebounds. DongGuan Leopards' coach Qun Li used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American swingman Marcus Williams (200-86, college: Arizona, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and American-Puerto Rican center Peter Ramos (222-85) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds. Four Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. DongGuan Leopards moved-up to sixth place. Loser Jilin Tigers keep the eleventh position with three games lost. DongGuan Leopards will face higher ranked Guandong Tigers (#3) in Dongguan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jilin Tigers will play at home against Liaoning Hunters (#5) and hope to win that game.
