Rather predictable result in Bydgoszcz where ninth ranked Astoria Bydg. (5-5) smashed 13th ranked Nysa Klodzko (3-7) 70-50 on Saturday. Astoria Bydg. forced 21 Nysa Klodzko turnovers. Nysa Klodzko was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Pawel Lewandowski (186-83) scored 11 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Piotr Robak (194-91) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Astoria Bydg. players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Jaroslaw Bartkowiak (201-85) responded with 10 points and 9 rebounds and guard Michal Weiss (188-82) scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Astoria Bydg. moved-up to seventh place, which they share with GKS Tychy and Spojnia. Newly promoted Nysa Klodzko dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. Astoria Bydg. will face Biofarm PZN (#14) in Poznan in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
