Regular Season Round 8: Andujar - Novaschool 68-61

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Andujar (3-1) beat at home bottom-ranked Novaschool (0-4) 68-61 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-13. But Novaschool won second period 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Andujar dominated on the defensive end, holding Novaschool to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Novaschool 39-25 including a 33-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Angel Vazquez (190-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Rafael Ramos (195-86) who added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Andujar players scored in double figures. Center Anastasio Vazquez (204-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Adolfo Ripoll (179-92) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Andujar keeps a position of Group D-East leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Novaschool still closes the standings with four games lost. Andujar will face Cazorla (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Novaschool will play against CAM E.Soler in Melilla and hopes to get finally their first victory.
