6th ranked Mitsubishi K. (5-4) fell to eighth ranked Aishin Wings (4-7) in overtime by two points 65-67 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Mitsubishi K.. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 21-11 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 2-point victory in overtime. Aishin Wings made 27-of-27 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 86.4 percentage. International power forward Evelyn Mawuli (180-95) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points. The former international center Kyoko Hamaguchi (181-90) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. International center Asako O (189-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists and international swingman Aya Watanabe (170-92) added 23 points and 4 assists in the effort for Mitsubishi K.Aishin Wings moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Toyota B SR. Mitsubishi K. at the other side keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Aishin Wings will face again higher ranked Mitsubishi K. (#6) in Nagoya in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
