Segle XXI can celebrate finally their first win this season after six consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they edged much higher ranked Olimpico 64 (3-4) 56-54 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Segle XXI dominated on the defensive end, holding Olimpico 64 to just 7 points in second quarter. Center Laia Sole (184-98) fired 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Aina Ayuso (181-99) chipped in 10 points. Segle XXI's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Irene San Roman (177-92) produced 17 points and forward Sara Fernandez (180-87) added 9 points respectively for lost side. Segle XXI (1-6) left bottom position moving up to twelfth place in Group B, which they share with Andratx. Newly promoted Olimpico 64 dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Segle XXI will face higher ranked Picken Claret (#7) in Valencia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
